Though there's no doubt that disbelief in one's inability to avoid contradiction goes against the notion that refusal is inadequate as a counter to a lack of antipathy, and indeed is nothing if not antithetical to such an absence, I'd be the last to deny that it is nonetheless no proof against a failure to misunderstand.
