Home state history

I grew up in Ohio, and must have gotten some Ohio history in school; but if so I remember almost none of it. (I do however remember extremely useful facts such as that the state fossil is the trilobite and the state rock song "Hang On Sloopy".) I certainly had never heard about the Toledo War, a rather remarkable border dispute which, in the 1830s, led to militias from the state of Ohio and the (then) territory of Michigan readying for outright armed conflict. Fascinating stuff. (In the end Michigan, bankrupted by the cost of the militias, compromised and gave up the disputed "Toledo strip" in return for a bigger chunk of the Upper Peninsula.)
